Electric cars have been in to a new evolution in recent years, what was supposed to be an innovative idea a decade ago is now going to be mainstream cars on roads. However, it’s not time to call it mainstream cars yet. When 2016 is expected to be the year of electric cars, gas prices have gone lower which is currently reducing electric car sales across the world.
Electric cars and plug-in hybrids are the next generation vehicles. With most of the EV manufacturers investing billions into battery and car manufacturing, long rides are really becoming possible with electric cars.
Long drives were not possible with electric cars as it was difficult to find charging stations but things are changing and charging stations can be easily found on most of the long roads. States like California, Colorado, etc are having more charging stations helping car owners to recharge batteries at regular intervals when needed.
This was the biggest problem electric car owners were facing for quite some time. Though, charging stations are not available like the regular gas stations, it will be soon available. Several European countries and American states are now having easily accessible charging stations. Government is taking necessary steps to increase the number of charging stations on highways and city. With more charging stations people can travel longer with electric cars without the fear of battery going dead.
It is expected that by 2026, 60% of cars sold would be electric cars. By then there would be electric cars that would have 500 miles range batteries and more charging stations.
