Twitter Inc alerted some of its users with a warning of the state-sponsored attacks. The first warning from the micro blogging site indicates that the state-sponsored attacks have made a trial to obtain some sensitive data from the user accounts. The notice from the company said that there was no such indication of the hackers who targeted “small group of accounts” to obtain the sensitive data of the users. There is no additional information from the company about the state-sponsored attack and hackers in the investigation.

From the notice of the Twitter the latest state-sponsored organization’s concern about cyber attacks. Data’s of Businesses, Government agencies and media has been hacked. The Twitters warning was reported earlier on the Financial Times and a tech news site named Motherboard. An organisation which is a Winnipeg-based non-profit called Coldhak, stated that it received a warning from Twitter on Friday. The information in the notice states that the attackers are trying to access sensitive information of users such as “email address, Phone numbers and /or the IP address”.
Awareness of State-Sponsored Attack:
The Twitter account of Coldhak’s, @ coldhakca, retweeted reports from several other users of twitter who confirmed that they too received such notice from twitter. The reason for singled out has not been indicated in the tweet by the Coldhak and other users who received such notice. Colin Childs, who is one among the founding directors of Coldhak informed Reuters that there is no such noticeable impact of this attack in his organisation. Companies such as Facebook and Google are now creating awareness about state-sponsored attacks through warnings.
